This leadership position is responsible for developing and directing human resource strategies, programs, and policies that support UHC's workforce and organizational objectives. Working closely with executive leadership, the VP of Human Resources provides strategic guidance on talent management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The VP of Human Resources reports to the Sr VP & Chief Legal Officer and serves as a member of UHC's leadership team. This exempt position offers annual compensation ranging from $104,063 to $146,605, based on education and experience. UHC offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes employer contributions to Utah Retirement Systems (URS), PEHP traditional health plans, and a high-deductible health plan with HSA contributions. The VP of Human Resources develops, interprets, and administers personnel policies and employment practices; ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations; advises leaders and employees on human resources matters; and prepares reports and recommendations for executive leadership and, when appropriate, the Board of Trustees. This role also oversees onboarding, training, leadership development, and career development initiatives that support employee growth, retention, and organizational success. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, and at least seven years of progressively responsible human resources leadership experience, including supervisory responsibility. Professional certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of human resources best practices, employment law, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational development. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships, exercise sound judgment, and effectively support leaders and employees across the organization.
