Job Description

Lead People Analytics Consultant U.S. Venture United States, Wisconsin, Appleton 222 West College Avenue (Show on map) May 29, 2026 POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior People Analytics Consultant is USV's internal subject matter expert (SME) on workforce data, metrics, and analytical insight. This role partners with People Resources and adjacent business units to turn people analytics into evidence-based decisions, and serves the organization by governing metric definitions, implementing model integrity, and developing analytic outputs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Consult with senior People Resources and business leaders, translating workforce questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations. Develops and owns the People Analytics metrics catalog, including definitions, calculation logic, data lineage, and approved sources, and resolves discrepancies across systems, dashboards, and AI-generated outputs. Reviews and validates AI generated people analytics by partnering with IT, Legal, and Security on responsible-AI guardrails for PR data. Design and deliver advanced analytics across the employee lifecycle, including, but not limited to: retention, turnover, workforce planning, quality of hire, internal mobility, succession management, pay equity, engagement and sentiment, manager effectiveness, DEI, and Safety. Build and maintain visually appealing dashboards in Power BI that lead with insight and narrative. Query and model data from HRIS, ATS, LMS, performance, compensation, and finance systems using SQL; build end-to-end, automated analytics solutions. Serve as the People Resources liaison to IT, Data & Insights, and Finance on data architecture and the enterprise data transformation roadmap. Coach HR Business Partners and people leaders on interpreting data and making evidence-based talent decisions. Embed data privacy, ethics, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, EEOC, OFCCP) into analytics products.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (Statistics, Data Science, I/O Psychology, Economics, HR or Business Analytics) or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years in people analytics, workforce analytics, or a closely related role, including consultative work with senior stakeholders. Expert in SQL and Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization). Deep working knowledge of HR data domains and major HRIS platforms, such as Workday. Track record of defining and governing enterprise metrics and reconciling conflicting numbers across systems. Strong executive communication skills; able to influence senior leaders and translate complex analyses for non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
experience evaluating or governing AI/ML-driven HR tools, including bias and fairness assessments.
