ASSISTANT;BENEFITS DEPARTMENT
HUMANRESOURCES OBJECTIVE
This position works closely with BBNA's Benefits Manager helping with functions related to employee benefits, such as processing check requests for HRA payments, reconciliation of insurance billings, benefit assignments and updates, data entry, filing, and a variety of other related activities.QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results in the detailed job description.Experience and/or education:
High school diploma and preferably two years of experience or formal education in a related field. Familiarity with accounting software, benefits in payroll functions, performing reconciliations, and maintaining an organized filing system.Attributes:
Demonstrated willingness to learn and increase knowledge in this field. The ability to pay strict attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and agencies. Computer skills. Keyboard, e-mail/internet MS programs, preferably strength using excel. Ability to learn MIP finance software functions. Familiarity with the Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures.JOB RESULTS
Achieves Program functions by Assist with the maintenance of BBNA's retirement benefits by Developing a basic understanding of BBNAs 401k and 403b retirement plan documents. Cross-checking payroll benefit codes in the Finance software system MIP for employee deferrals into the 401k and/or 403b plans. Helping to monitor maximum deferral amounts Reconciling the payroll payable account for employee deferrals. Assisting with annual Audit preparations Keeping paper and electronic documentation of enrollment and distribution files updated so that accurate documentation is available. Keeping the 401k plan census updated with accurate addresses and employment status information. Assisting with organizing training workshops. Assist with the maintenance of BBNA's employee health insurance benefits by Developing a basic understanding of the variety of BBNA's health coverage plans, account codes, billing and coverage schedules, and transactions involved. Conducting billing reviews and ensuring accurate reconciliation of coverage assignments, while managing any required adjustments. Monitoring dependent coverage status to identify those who will reach age 26 and are no longer eligible for coverage. Assist with Open Season enrollment updates and change activities. Assist in processing new enrollments and terminations of benefits. Processing check requests for HRA payments for Dental & Vision and Travel payments. Checking benefit code assignments in MIP to ensure they match employee elections for FEHB insurance, HRA's, life & disability & voluntary coverages. Identifying billing errors to ensure accountability Update forms to ensure current forms are in useMAINTENANCE OF BBNA'S GENERAL INSURANCE NEEDS BY
Developing a basic understanding of the variety of BBNA's insurance needs including but not limited to general liability insurance, property insurance, auto, assets and scheduled property. Conducting billing reviews and ensuring accurate reconciliation of coverage assignments, while managing any required adjustments. Complete Annual renewal documentation for review and submission Participating in periodic insurance carrier review Maintaining BBNA's drivers list Keep Management Informed by Serving on the Benefits Committee to report on benefit activities and funding of the BBNA self-insured HRA plan to meet reimbursement claims. Sending timely information to Directors about employees requires training and/or paperwork. Surveying employees for feedback. Meet requirements for travel in and out of region by Scheduling well planned trips to provide services, participate in training, workshops, and exchange information. Travel is not expected to be frequent. Monitors and improves program and service quality by Maintaining internal standard operating procedures for cross training and ensuring continuous operations. Protect program integrity and client privacy by Agreeing to BBNA's policy on confidentiality, keeping confidential information gained through employment secure, during and after employment.
