Bachelor of Arts Full Job Description The Role:
The Benefits Coordinator manages employee benefits and leaves of absence, including health, retirement, and disability plans. This role is the main contact for employees, works with benefit vendors, supports open enrollment, and maintains records and reporting to improve processes and the employee experience. Location(s):
Salinas, CA Areas of Responsibility :
Administer employee benefit programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, 401(k), ESOP, and related plans). Process weekly, monthly, and annual benefits files and eligibility updates. Audit employee data and generate reports to support accuracy and process improvements. Manage leave programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, disability, and company leaves). Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and claims. Conduct new‑hire benefit orientations. Coordinate with benefit carriers, vendors, and financial institutions. Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate leave and benefit‑related payments. Support open enrollment, including communications and vendor coordination. Assist with HR initiatives, wellness programs, and benefits projects. Stay current on benefit trends and best practices. Work with the Benefits Manager to meet department goals. Travel to company locations as needed for onsite support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related field. 3-5 years of experience in HR or benefits administration. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Proficiency in
Human Resource Information Systems Ideal Candidate:
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality. Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and benefits/payroll systems. Strong team player with a professional, positive approach. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to explain complex benefits clearly.
