Full Job Description Job Summary:
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and independent problem-solving to ensure timely approvals, and successful patient care workflows. The specialist is expected to operate with accountability, urgency, and professionalism in a fast-paced clinical environment. Highly organized, effective communicator whose ability to multitask drives them to succeed in a high paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Works effectively with insurance companies to get authorizations/referrals completed in a timely manner. Communicates effectively and routinely with clinical staff and patients on the status of the insurance authorizations, documents the authorization approval or denial. Follows up with staff and clinicians accordingly. Prioritizes workload and utilizes a system for tracking what is need for additional follow-up. Communicates effectively with insurance companies, outside facilities, coworkers and patients. Completes benefits investigations as needed. Navigate through the EMR to find the required patient medical and insurance information. Maintains confidentiality of patient records and follows HIPAA compliance rules laws. Shares call center, in basket and fax duties Participates in team meetings and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others under stressful conditions. Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Takes personal responsibility for work. Flexibility, promptness, and desire to be a team player. Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks based on urgency. Knowledge of computer use and typing. Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
Education and Experience:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent (GED) CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred Medical office experience preferred

Full Time Compensation:
