Benefits & Retirement Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location:
Palm Beach County, FL (On-site)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, engaged, and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join a prominent Palm Beach County government agency. This is a critical temp-to-hire role focused on the retirement sector. You will serve as a primary point of contact for prospective retirees and active employees, guiding them through the complexities of benefits selection and retirement transitions. This is an entry-level professional role with a defined career path . Key Responsibilities Retirement Counseling:
Conduct one-on-one meetings (in-person and via Zoom) with prospective retirees to discuss benefit options, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
Plan Expertise:
Explain and assist with various retirement savings plans, including FRS (Florida Retirement System) , DROP , 457b , 401a , and 401k processes.
Data & Administration:
Perform high-volume data entry, scan/upload sensitive paperwork, and maintain meticulous records within Oracle and other HRIS systems.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between employees and vendors, maintaining a professional, calm, and patient demeanor at all times.
Auditing:
Utilize an analytical eye to audit billing and ensure the accuracy of benefit enrollments.
Confidentiality:
Handle sensitive employee data with the highest level of discretion and integrity.
Required Qualifications Education:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree (AA) or higher is required.
Experience:
Previous background in Benefits Administration or Human Resources is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel and Microsoft Word . Experience with Oracle or similar HRIS/Benefits software is a significant plus.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and DROP is a major advantage. Skills for
