We are seeking a detail‑oriented and solutions‑focused Benefits professional to support the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of our employee benefit programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring our plans operate efficiently, meet all regulatory requirements, and provide an excellent experience for employees. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $67,314.00, but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in theLife:
Ensure all benefit programs adhere to applicable federal and state regulations. Manage day‑to‑day operations for health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans. Conduct detailed audits of vendors, benefit programs, and industry trends to ensure compliance with contracts, regulations, policies, and best practices. Compile, analyze, evaluate, and interpret large data sets from systems such as PeopleSoft, vendor reports, contracts, and state/federal regulations; develop reports and provide data‑driven recommendations. Establish new processes and implement required changes based on evolving federal and state legislation. Troubleshoot and resolve benefits‑related issues, including HRIS discrepancies, vendor errors, and contract administration concerns. Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for the HRIS benefits module and partner with IT/IOT teams on system configuration updates. Monitor application systems to ensure accurate processing and strong performance. Serve as project manager for complex, statewide benefit initiatives with fiscal impact. Independently review and resolve benefit appeal requests through data analysis and contract interpretation. Oversee and resolve eligibility, billing, and claims disputes with vendors, agencies, or employees. Serve as a technical expert and team lead by providing guidance and support to Benefits Specialists. Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for benefit program vendors. Audit legal compliance documents such as Summary Plan Descriptions and manage annual compliance notice distribution. Coordinate Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) claims with CMS. Lead employee benefit training sessions and informational presentations. Identify, calculate, and resolve premium errors based on individual employee circumstances. Detect and correct data entry errors impacting employee benefits or job status by collaborating with necessary stakeholders. Recommend process improvements based on metrics, analysis, and operational trends. Act as a liaison between vendors, agencies, and employees to ensure effective communication and issue resolution. Experience in benefits administration, HRIS, or related fields Strong analytical and auditing skills Ability to interpret benefit contracts, regulations, and system data Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills Experience with PeopleSoft or similar HR systems preferred Benefits of Employment with theState of Indiana:
