Job Description

The following are examples of work performed for positions in this job class, and are not intended to reflect the essential functions of any one position. The essential functions of each individual position are determined and maintained by each individual department. Conducts employee orientation and exit interview. Administers employee benefit programs in compliance with policies (e.g. enrolling new employees, explaining benefit options, mediating benefit eligibility and payment issues, open enrollment, etc.) Conducts dependent audits for the purpose of providing and up-to-date audit trail. Reconciles enrollment forms and billings to employee records (e.g. COBRA, disability, retirement, health, FMLA, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate eligibility and payment information. Researches discrepancies between employee, payroll, benefit providers/s ensuring accuracy of records and maximizing eligible payments. Resolves conflicts with benefit providers for the purpose of verifying eligibility and conveying information. Prepare all COBRA notices to inactive and terminated employees participating in the medical plan so coordination of health coverage can be elected if desired. Maintain accurate COBRA files; notify participants with delinquent balances. Coordinate and organize pertinent data into useable form; prepare memorandums, reports, and other communications as needed. Proficient in computer skills that could include but is not limited to Word, excel Powerpoint to complete assigned tasks. Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three (3) years of directly related experience or A high school diploma and any combination of related education and six (6) years of experience in work related to the described duties.
