Workers' Compensation Billing Specialist (Full-Time)

Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine About Us Genesis Orthopaedic and Spine is a multi-specialty orthopedic and spine practice with multiple locations across New Jersey. We specialize in comprehensive musculoskeletal care and work extensively with Workers' Compensation cases. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Billing Specialist to join our team at our West Orange location . Position Summary The Workers' Compensation Billing Specialist will be responsible for the accurate submission, follow-up, and resolution of Workers' Compensation claims. This role requires deep knowledge of New Jersey Workers' Compensation billing rules , strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex claims efficiently. Experience with other state Workers' Compensation systems, particularly New York, Pennsylvania, Department of Labor, and other states, is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Submit Workers' Compensation claims electronically, by mail, and by fax in a timely and accurate manner Ensure compliance with New Jersey Workers' Compensation regulations, NY state, and Department of Labor requirements (knowledge of other states is a PLUS) Review, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims Follow up on unpaid and underpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies Communicate with insurance carriers, employers, attorneys, and internal staff regarding claim status Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts accurately Maintain detailed documentation and billing records Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper coding and billing Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in Workers' Compensation billing Strong knowledge of New Jersey Workers' Compensation Experience submitting claims via electronic clearinghouses, mail, and fax Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (EMR/EHR) strongly preferred Hands-on experience with clearinghouses such as Jopari and Waystar strongly preferred Excellent understanding of EOBs, fee schedules, and Workers' Compensation reimbursement rules Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications (Plus Factors) Experience with New York Workers' Compensation, Department of Labor, and other state systems Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification Orthopedic or specialty practice billing background What We Offer Full-time, stable position at our West Orange, NJ office Competitive compensation based on experience Supportive, professional work environment Opportunity to be part of a growing, well-established specialty practice
