Pay:
$20.00-$23.00
Position Summary:
Assists plan participants, beneficiaries and providers in understanding the benefits available through the plans. Answers telephones, greets and routes walk-in guests, responds to inquiries regarding Health and Welfare, Pension, Annuity and Vacation benefits, eligibility and enrollment. Verifies benefits available and provides claim status on medical, dental, death benefit claims. Assists with other inquiries concerning Trust benefits and other plans. Performs general clerical duties to support the daily activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
  • Taft Hartley experience and/or experience processing medical claims, pension applications, and/or benefit eligibility and enrollment is preferred.
  • BA Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service skills required both on the phone and in person.
  • Customer Service Call center experience helpful.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
  • Able to clearly and effectively express verbally and in writing. Proper use of grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and correct spelling is required.
  • Able to read, analyze, comprehend, and disseminate information from computer systems and legal documents.
  • Ability to positively and professionally manage challenging service situations. Able to deal with situations of a dynamic nature; to be able to modify plans, actions, and decisions in light of changing situations and circumstances.
  • Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities simultaneously with high level of detail orientation.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding, and the regular use, of a time management process; to work in an organized way; to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds.
  • Able to use an IBM compatible desktop computer, to be able to operate menu driven windows software and to be proficient in the use of Windows programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
