Job Description

The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for the position of Employee Benefits Clerk at the District Office. This is a full-time 12-month position which includes a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. All candidates must meet the Rockland County Civil Service minimum requirements.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Provide information and address various issues for employees regarding all aspects of the insurance and benefits program (e.g., health, dental, life insurance, retirement benefits, etc.) Process enrollments for health, dental and other employee benefits programs; Process Workers' Compensation reports and complete requests for wage reimbursement and wager information Serve as District liaison with various insurance companies to assist with resolving any issues related to billing and coverage for employees and retirees Maintain accurate records of all employee benefits plans, changes and updates for all bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit employees, and enter benefit information in Employee management and other systems Organize and send invoices and bills to retired District employees Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements related to employee benefits Perform other professional responsibilities assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Community Relations
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, and four (4) years of paid office clerical or business work experience, at least two (2) years of which required personal interaction with other employees or department/agency clientele as a major function of the work, and at least one (1) year of which included significant involvement with employee benefits, specifically health insurance, such as processing claims and explaining benefits.
NOTE:
1. An Associate's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or comparable degree may be substituted for two (2) years of the required paid office clerical or business work experience. 2. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Human Resources or comparable degree may be deemed fully qualifying.
