  • Hybrid As a Senior Consultant, Corporate Governance, you will play a key supporting role within Aon Governance, helping to deliver high-quality governance, executive compensation, and shareholder engagement work for a broad range of clients.
You will collaborate closely with senior team members to execute projects, prepare client deliverables, and support day-to-day engagement needs. This role is based in Washington, DC or may be virtual/remote. We are seeking candidates with experience in corporate governance, executive compensation, investor or proxy advisory analysis, or related legal/regulatory environments, who are comfortable working in dynamic, deadline-driven settings and producing precise, analytically strong work. What the day will look like Project & Deliverable Support Support the execution of client projects Develop and refine client-ready materials, including board and committee materials, presentations, and meeting preparation documents Coordinate inputs from across internal teams (governance, compensation, analytics) to ensure cohesive and timely deliverables Governance & Compensation Analysis Conduct research and analysis on corporate governance practices, board structures, and executive compensation programs Prepare benchmarking analyses, peer comparisons, and summaries of market practices to inform client recommendations Monitor and summarize relevant regulatory and market developments (e.g., SEC, stock exchange requirements, proxy advisor updates) for internal and client use Shareholder Engagement & Meeting Support Assist in preparing materials for shareholder engagement, annual meetings, and proxy season planning (e.g., talking points, FAQs, briefing books, and scenario analyses) Support the development of summaries of investor and proxy advisor voting policies and their implications for clients Help track and synthesize shareholder proposal trends and voting outcomes across clients and sectors Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing & Team Support Collaborate with senior consultants and lead advisors to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables Contribute to internal knowledge resources, templates, and best-practice guides to enhance delivery quality and efficiency Support training and onboarding of junior analysts, sharing tools, approaches, and lessons learned Data Analysis & Thought Leadership Support Work with internal data and analytics resources to collect, validate, and interpret governance, and compensation data Help draft sections of white papers, articles, and presentations, contributing analytical insights and research to Aon's thought leadership Maintain organized documentation and workpapers to support consistency, quality review, and knowledge transfer Skills and experience that will lead to success Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, public policy, or related field) preferred but not required Typically 5-8+ years of relevant professional experience (e.g., consulting, corporate governance, executive compensation, investor relations, proxy advisory, or related legal/regulatory work) Strong familiarity with corporate governance and executive compensation concepts, with interest in deepening expertise Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and produce accurate, high-quality deliverables Solid writing and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured outputs Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior team members and cross-functional colleagues High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, collaborative working style How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.   • $150,000 annually.
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
