What You Will Be Doing Under general direction from the Retirement and Benefits Specialist 3 (Processing Manager & Sr. Benefits Specialist 2), the Retirement and Benefits Specialist 2 (Benefit Analyst independently provides: Retirement file certification Counseling on all Public Employee's Retirement Plans via in-person and web base presentations Providing Seminars for members and employers for all Public Employees' Retirement Plans via in-person and web-based presentations Self-Education on State of Alaska (SOA) Statues and Regulation for all SOA Retirement Plans and IRS/IRC that provide for the governance of SOA Retirement Plans Work directly with Employers and Members of designated Regional Service area(s) Our Organization, Mission, and Culture The Division of Retirement and Benefits administers State of Alaska and political subdivision retirement and benefit plans so that customers experience excellent, accurate, and timely service; and members understand the value of, and effectively manage, their retirement and health benefits. The Working Environment You Can Expect This position is in Juneau - State Office Bldg. Ideal applicants will be customer service oriented and have the ability to prioritize responsibilities to best suit the needs of the division. You are expected to engage in a team environment with staff, upper management, employers and members as well as other internal and external vendors.
