Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Payroll, Benefits & Compliance Administrator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of payroll, employee benefits, union reporting, certified payroll compliance, and employee record management for two union-affiliated companies with approximately 80 employees. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and a professional, team-oriented attitude. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and accountability while working with sensitive employee and payroll information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for approximately 80 employees across two companies. Ensure payroll accuracy, including wages, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and union-related contributions. Enter and maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and benefit updates. Generate payroll reports and maintain payroll records. Calculate and maintain monthly union dues using union-specific spreadsheets. Prepare and submit union-related payroll information and benefit contributions. Prepare and distribute certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects. Maintain employee benefit enrollment records, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and Aflac benefits. Verify payroll deductions and ensure benefit deductions are accurate. Process and reconcile weekly retirement plan contributions. Process workers' compensation reporting. Enter new employees into the payroll system and maintain personnel records. Enter and maintain onboarding paperwork and payroll documentation. Required Skills & Competencies Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred. Knowledge of payroll administration, employee benefits, payroll tax reporting, union payroll, and certified payroll. Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills. Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with employees, contractors, and management. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion. Work Environment & Expectations
  • This position is highly deadline-driven and requires a dependable individual who can consistently manage recurring payroll, benefit, and reporting obligation
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule each week.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all aspects of the position.
  • Work cooperatively with office staff, field employees, management, benefit providers, union representatives, and contractors.
