Job Description

The Accounting Department at the Coastal Bend Blood Center has an available full-time job opening for the position of Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This is an exempt position that will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for general accounting functions including payroll & benefits, accounts receivable, some accounts payable, and general ledger. This position will process payroll and submit benefits information in each applicable program. Administer annual open enrollments for benefits. Review & reconcile end-of-month inventory and record in general ledger. Invoice customers. Education and/or
Experience:
A college degree in Business or Accounting is preferred. 3-5 years of accounting/payroll processing and benefits administration is required. Knowledge of state payroll laws and processing. Experience using ADP Payroll preferred. Experience using benefits & inventory software is preferred. Knowledge of retirement account administration is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires strong computer & analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong detail oriented with high organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and must be able to work well with all staff levels. Strong and proven ability to practice extreme confidentiality, professionalism, and highly ethical behavior and act with integrity. Must have a Current Texas Driver's License with Clean Driving Record. Selected applicants are subject to a drug/alcohol screen and background check. Additionally, this position requires working with sensitive and confidential information in a highly controlled and regulated environment.
