Summary The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive total rewards strategy that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent. This role ensures compensation, benefits, and reward programs are competitive, performance-driven, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. As a key member of the HR leadership team, this leader provides strategic guidance, supports key business decisions, and oversees the effective administration of all total rewards programs. Qualifications & Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 10 years of broad total rewards experience including pay equity, compensation design, executive compensation, performance management, incentive programs, and benefits strategy. Minimum 5 years of senior-level HR and people leadership experience. HRIS experience and strong analytical capabilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
HR certifications (CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR). Experience using statistical or financial analysis software. Strong business acumen; able to interpret financial documents and connect HR strategies to business outcomes. Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends, identify organizational needs, and propose effective solutions. Skilled in data governance, data interpretation, and coaching others in data-driven decision-making. Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence decisions at the leadership level. Job Duties Lead and develop a team of compensation, benefits, HRIS, and compliance analysts. Develop and recommend compensation strategies, including base pay structures, sales and commission plans, variable pay, bonus programs, and long-term incentives. Review and optimize compensation programs to ensure market competitiveness, appropriate leverage, performance alignment, and accurate administration. Oversee compensation materials for quarterly HR Committee and Board of Directors presentations. Advise HR Business Partners, leaders, and Talent Acquisition on complex compensation matters. Develop and manage the total rewards budget; conduct cost-benefit and financial analyses of programs. Ensure compensation and benefits programs are compliant and effectively deployed. Manage third-party vendors supporting benefits, retirement plans, and compensation services. Establish performance metrics, monitor outcomes, and drive continuous program improvement. Leverage predictive analytics, HRIS data, and business insights to inform decision-making and recommendations. Ensure data governance, data quality, and the use of data-driven decision-making across the total rewards function. Communicate results, insights, and recommendations through effective storytelling and clear data visualization. Partner with business leaders to identify future needs, evaluate industry trends, and guide long-term total rewards strategy. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
