Job Summary Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. This position provides daily direction and management to the Workers' Compensation and Self-Insurance Unit. This includes overseeing work related to: Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Viatical Settlement Providers and Brokers, Service Contract Providers, Vehicle Protection Product Warrantors, Employee Leasing Companies, Risk Purchasing Groups, Utilization Review Organizations, and Rate Service Organizations. The position also provides regular oversight of the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Assigned Risk Plan, which serves as Minnesota's Residual Market for workers' compensation. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of experience in the insurance industry or a related field, including experience with claims, licensing, compliance, or regulatory processes. A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field can be substituted for one (1) year of experience. An advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field can be substituted for eighteen (18) months of experience. Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following: Experience as a supervisor, project manager, and/or lead worker Demonstrated experience in evaluating licensing applications for regulated entities (i.e., TPAs, PBMs, Service contract providers etc.) Experience evaluating company's financial strengths and weaknesses Experience working in a regulatory environment Preferred Qualifications Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field Certifications, including Certified Financial Examiner or Certified Public Accountant Government regulatory experience Demonstrated experience reading, interpreting and communicating insurance statutes, rules, regulations, and policies Physical Requirements Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
