Job Description

Maine School Management Association Augusta, ME MSMA is seeking a full-time Property Casualty/Workers' Compensation Director of Insurance programs. This position works closely with and under general direction of the CFO/Trusts Administrator of both insurance programs. This role provides underwriting analysis and analytical support to the trustees, trust members, staff, and other partners.
They are responsible for:
Facilitating collaboration between multiple partnerships; Collecting and analyzing underwriting and loss data; Producing marketing materials for its premium credit programs, bid documents and other services/benefits it offers; Annually conducting the online renewal applications process; Providing direction and oversight on the annual MOD rate and premium allocations; Acting as a resource, fielding coverage questions, and providing consultation for members; Acting as chief liaison with our insurance broker's staff to coordinate and exchange information; Making recommendations and presentations to the Trustees. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skills in property/casualty and workers' compensation insurance, claims processes and underwriting required; State of Maine Property Casualty License; Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent related experience; 5 or more years of demonstrated experience in similar position with 2 or more years of management experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, including but not limited to: Knowledge of the basic principles and methods of insurance, risk management, safety, and public administration; High intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously; Ability to handle advanced arithmetical calculations; Ability to conduct research, analyze, and interpret information; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and good public relations with other employees, agencies, members, and the public.
