We are committed to providing the highest quality care and education for children, and we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Director to join our team. About the Role The Assistant Director plays a vital role in the daily operations of The Goddard School, supporting the School Directors in all aspects of managing the school and ensuring a positive and enriching experience for children, families, and staff. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood education, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Program Implementation:
Assist in implementing The Goddard School's play-based curriculum, ensuring it meets the developmental needs of all children. Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities. Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers. Stay up-to-date on early childhood education trends and best practices.
Classroom Management and Support:
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized learning environment. Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play. Provide support to teachers in managing classroom behavior and addressing individual needs of children. Maintain positive relationships with children and families.
Administrative Support:
Assist with daily administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking, record-keeping, and communication with families. Support the School Director in managing school operations, including scheduling, ordering supplies, and maintaining licensing compliance. Assist with enrollment processes and parent communication.
Staff Management and Development:
Support the School Director in recruiting, hiring, and training new staff members. Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers and other staff members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Parent Communication and Engagement:
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents. Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and development. Address parent concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner. Assist with parent events and school activities.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and/or a Bachelor's degree. Experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool setting. Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education principles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth and development.
