Job Description

Job Description At Alaska Airlines, we are looking for a Manager, Workers' Compensation to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the workers' compensation program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing claims to minimize costs and improve outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. You will be instrumental in developing strategies to reduce workplace injuries and improve employee health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the workers' compensation program, including claims management and reporting. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries. Collaborate with HR, safety, and legal teams to address claims and improve workplace safety. Provide training and support to managers and employees regarding workers' compensation policies and procedures. Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Maintain relationships with insurance carriers and third-party administrators. Prepare reports for management on claims status and program effectiveness. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in workers' compensation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field. 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation or related field. Strong knowledge of state and federal workers' compensation laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with claims management software is a plus.
