Competitive Pay Progression:
$17/hour during training $18/hour after successful completion of training (classroom/on the job) Structured Training & Ongoing Support Potential for Remote Work after training and consistent performance (estimated at 6 months) Purpose Driven Work making a real impact in the community About the Role This position is part of OU's PEAK Temporary Staffing Services, and is designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to gain experience, demonstrate their skills, and transition into permanent university position. Candidates with 18 months of relevant experience are eligible to apply for permanent positions as they become available. Training & Work Structure We provide a 16 week comprehensive, handson training program to ensure your success: Training begins May 11th, 2026 All training is conducted on site at 617 West Rock Creek Road in northwest Norman, OK Combination of classroom instruction and real world application After completing training and consistently meeting performance expectations, employees may be eligible for remote work. Reliable transportation to Norman is required during training and the initial work period. What You'll Do As a Program Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted resource and guide for individuals navigating benefit programs. In this role, you will: Assist clients through multiple service channels including inperson lobby, virtual lobby, and telephone based support Review and process applications for Adult and Family Service benefit programs. Conduct eligibility determinations in accordance with federal and state program requirements and policy guidelines Gather, verify, and evaluate client provided documentation including income and household composition. Conduct intake interviews and eligibility screenings in a professional and responsive manner
Job Requirements Required:
High School Diploma or GED;
AND:
18 months of experience in data analysis, project coordination, or related work
Preferred:
Case management or customer support experience Call Center environment experience

Ability to work well with all levels of staff in the organization and individuals with multiple barriers. Must be able to handle confidential matters in responsible manner.
