Job Description

Introduction Seldovia Village Tribe is seeking a highly organized individual to join our Human Resources team. Your role as an Human Resources Assistant is to support the Human Resources Department by providing administrative and clerical functions, support in recruitment efforts, and serve as an in-person and online resource to prospective, current and past employees of Seldovia Village Tribe. This role is ideal for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of Human Resources particularly for Tribal employers and healthcare. Position Overview The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will perform tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources Department. Duties and Responsibilities Routinely answer calls, e-mails, and mail Completes administrative requests from outside entities such as (but not limited to) employment verifications, unemployment insurance claims/audits, employment letters, student loan repayment forms, and salary surveys. Complete requests and reports for internal needs such as (but not limited to) CQI reports, recruitment updates for staff meetings, employee paperwork, I-9 verifications, and payroll needs Draft, update, or review HR related documents such as (but not limited to) job descriptions, payroll forms, and policies/procedures. Maintain organized records digitally and hardcopy in accordance with best practices and SVT Policies Post job advertisements as instructed by HR Director Schedule and conduct phone screens and interviews with hiring teams in accordance with HR Department practices Maintain thorough, accurate, and current HRIS records, files, templates, and job postings. Schedule and facilitate all new hire orientation schedules across all included personnel Provide complete and smooth onboarding of new staff on behalf of HR Department Collect new hire forms and distribute to appropriate departments and file locations Support the timely completion of employee evaluations through tracking, notification and reminders to SVT employees and supervisors. Responsible for supporting the credentialing process of medical providers and maintaining records, both for onboarding and renewals. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Maintain and update HR information on SharePoint and/or policy software. Manage and post files, forms, policies, calendars, and all other materials kept on the intranet and communicate information on intranet/server access to all employees. Support other Administrative staff members in arranging travel for potential candidates, locum providers, and other recruitment related travel efforts. Schedule drug test appointments in accordance with policies Fingerprinting of potential/new employees Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Confidentiality
