About the
Role:
The HR Coordinator independently manages core HR processes, including leave of absence administration, workers' compensation coordination, employee onboarding and offboarding, and day-to-day benefits support, while maintaining accurate employee records and HR data. This role is a primary point of contact for employees and managers on these topics and helps ensure compliant, efficient HR operations. Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to: Coordinate the end‑to‑end onboarding process and new hire orientation and activities for new hires. Coordinate end-to-end offboarding activities and separation meeting. Provide day‑to‑day support for benefits administration, including processing enrollments, changes, and terminations across benefit plans. Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and basic claims or carrier issues, escalating more complex matters as needed. Coordinate benefits steps related to new hires, qualifying life events, leaves of absence, and separations. Assist with reconciling benefits information. Support 401(k) administration by helping employees with enrollment and changes and coordinating with plan providers as directed. Coordinate employee leaves of absence and time‑off requests by gathering required information, providing standard forms, and communicating timelines and next steps. Track leave status, return‑to‑work dates, and related changes to pay and benefits in HR systems and spreadsheets, escalating complex situations to HR leadership as appropriate. Maintain complete and accurate employee records in the HRIS and electronic personnel files, including new hires, job changes, leaves, and separations. Perform routine data checks to help ensure accuracy and consistency across HR, timekeeping, and benefits systems, coordinating updates with HR and Payroll when needed. Assist with preparing standard HR reports and metrics, such as headcount, turnover, and leave usage, for HR and management review. Help ensure HR practices in assigned areas follow company policies and applicable regulations by following established procedures and flagging issues to HR leadership. Assist with audits and documentation requests related to HR records, leaves, workers' compensation, and personnel files. Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance overall employee experience. Perform other related HR duties as assigned. Qualifications At least 2 years of relevant HR experience required; education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent), or active pursuit of certification, is ideal. Familiarity with California leave and workers' compensation requirements; experience in construction or multi-site environments is a plus. Strong understanding of HR administration, employee records management, and HRIS or similar systems (BambooHR and Ease highly preferred); ability to produce accurate reports and maintain data integrity. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and comfort learning new HR systems and tools. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with and support employees across all spoken and written channels. This role is fully onsite at our corporate office. Compensation for this role is $60,000-65,000/annually.
