Overview Mariposa Landscapes is looking for a detail oriented and people focused candidate to join our HR team as a HR Assistant. In this full-time role, you will provide essential administrative support across all areas of the HR function, from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations and compliance. You'll be a key point of contact for employees and play an active role in keeping our HR operations running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and communicates effectively in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities Support the HR department with day-to-day administrative functions Assist in the full recruiting cycle: contacting candidates, conducting reference checks, and scheduling interviews Complete pre-employment paperwork and background checks; coordinate new-hire physicals with medical clinics Prepare new-hire documentation and conduct new-hire orientation Organize and maintain employee records both physically and electronically Report new hires to the state as required Route important employee correspondence to the appropriate HR Generalist or Manager Document employee concerns and complaints and escalate to HR leadership Assist with workplace investigations as directed Stay current on State and Federal labor laws and regulations Support special HR projects as assigned Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional experience in human resources or HR administration Bilingual in English and Spanish is required Solid knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and record-keeping practices Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Certified Notary (Preferred)
