This role combines traditional HR responsibilities with healthcare-specific administrative functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, credentialing support, compliance tracking, staff scheduling, and operational coordination across multiple practice locations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, maintains strict confidentiality, and is passionate about supporting both employees and exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Human Resources & Recruitment Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and onboarding. Coordinate new employee orientation and training. Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation. Assist with employee performance reviews and corrective action processes. Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, PTO, and workplace concerns. Foster a positive, professional workplace culture and employee engagement. Employee Relations & Retention Support employee recognition and retention initiatives. Assist leadership in resolving workplace concerns and conflicts. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Conduct exit interviews and identify opportunities for organizational improvement. Healthcare Compliance & Credentialing Monitor employee licenses, certifications, and continuing education requirements. Track annual compliance training, including HIPAA, OSHA, harassment prevention, and other required healthcare training. Assist with provider credentialing and recredentialing activities. Maintain credentialing files and ensure timely submission of required documentation. Support compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements. Staffing & Scheduling Coordination Coordinate staffing schedules for clinical and administrative personnel. Assist with provider and advanced practice provider coverage schedules. Monitor staffing levels and identify scheduling gaps. Support onboarding and scheduling for new providers and staff. Coordinate coverage needs across multiple office and facility locations. Benefits & Payroll Administration Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and changes. Assist employees with benefits-related questions. Support payroll processing and timekeeping systems. Maintain records related to PTO, leave requests, attendance, and employee status changes. Administrative & Operational Support Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates. Generate HR and staffing reports for leadership. Assist with office events, employee appreciation activities, and team-building initiatives. Support special projects related to practice growth, operational efficiency, and employee development. Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative leadership. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare, physician practice, or medical office setting. Knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Preferred HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent). Experience with physician practice operations. Experience with provider credentialing and healthcare compliance. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and healthcare regulatory requirements. Experience coordinating staffing schedules in a healthcare setting.
