Onsite and Remote Office Position Summary:
The human resources technician supports the Human Resources department by maintaining clerical records, personnel and departmental documentation, and supporting the mission, vision and core values of the school. Additional duties outlined in this job description serve and support the functions of the department.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Departmental and Employee Performance Evaluation Assists human resources with maintaining performance evaluation system and documents Supports the school leadership with collecting staff evaluations and tracking completion Ensuring Compliance and School Safety Assists with assigning predetermined trainings and tracking staff completion Employee Recruitment, Paperwork and Documentation Performs and tracks onboarding and offboarding procedures and keeps processes current Ensures all documentation is received and filed appropriately Maintains current tracking of staff credentials current in all systems and sheets Assists with recruitment efforts for all staffing needs Assists with recruitment efforts including but not limited to ad placement on job boards and other online recruitment sources, supporting in the execution of job fairs Supports with the screening and tracking of applications Supports with the research and determination of the eligibility of applicants Supports the department in the interview process as needed Supports with keeping job descriptions current as needed Prepares termination forms and offboarding for employees no longer with the school Drafts and tracks employee and administration work calendars Completes HR related paperwork and documentation, including but not limited to, verification of employment, employment documentation, employment records, attendance reports, etc, as needed Employee and Labor Relations Supports efforts to ensure the HR department and school are compliant within state and Federal employment laws through research, investigations, and learning Assists with keeping HR manuals, policies, and trainings current and updated Maintenance of the Human Resources Information System and School Databases Assists with the maintenance of the school's HRIS Serves as a point of contact for all login information to school databases Assists with keeping all school systems current including auditing employment records as needed Department and School Support Supports the Human Resources and other school departments with clerical operations and tasks as needed Supports the Human Resources department in developing positive school culture Preserves the employer/employee relationship Supports efforts of the administration to ensure the workplace is free from discrimination and harassment for all staff Supports the Human Resources department with surveys to gather information from staff Answers routine questions about human resources policies and procedures and directs staff to available resources as needed
Other Duties:
Responds to all school related written correspondence, phone calls, voicemails, and emails within 24 business hours Documents and refers all formal disciplinary actions involving students and staff to school management ensuring compliance with the school's Uniform Complaint Policy and the school's Uniform Technology Policy; addressing and resolving complaints from students, parents, and staff in a timely manner; and complying with the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act) Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required Two years of clerical experience One year of related human resources experience preferred
Other Qualifications:
State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years
Knowledge:
Computer and technology literacy: Operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software. Google docs, Google spreadsheets and other online collaboration tools to send and receive information Basic arithmetic calculations
Skills:
Conflict resolution Record-keeping techniques Methods of collecting and organizing data and information
