Human Resources Assistant GC Empire Construction Santa Ana, CA Job Details $23 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Full Job Description Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department and assists in the delivery of core human resources functions across the employee lifecycle. This role supports onboarding, compliance, and employee relations while ensuring a positive employee experience and maintaining accurate, confidential records. In addition, this position performs key support functions, including extensive coordination of new hire onboarding, and device and systems setup. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Essential Functions Human Resources Department & Employee Support Assist with onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and well-coordinated onboarding experience Assist HR Specialist and IT to ensure all onboarding requirements are completed prior to the employee's start date Provide ongoing support to employees by responding to IT-related and human resources-related inquiries and escalating issues as appropriate Device, Systems & Access Management Coordinate, configure, and distribute employee devices and equipment, including laptops, desktops, phones, and related accessories Manage device inventory, tracking, setup, retrieval, and reassignment for new hires, transfers, and separations Ensure appropriate system access is established for new hires and updated as roles change Support employees with basic system navigation and usage, developing working knowledge of key platforms Human Resources Administration & Compliance Conduct human resources audits, maintain accurate employee records, and support compliance-related initiatives Process Improvement & Documentation Identify opportunities to streamline human resources processes and enhance service delivery Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant human resources documentation Strategic & Departmental Support Partner with fellow human resources employees on departmental initiatives, projects, and strategic goals Perform additional related duties as assigned to support human resources operations and organizational objectives Core Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of human resources administrative and operational processes Strong understanding of Apple products, laptop computers, desk phones etc. High proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and human resources systems Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Professional written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Basic technical aptitude related to device setup and system access support Education and Experience Two (2) or more years of experience as a Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Coordinator, or Human Resource support role preferred Prior experience supporting onboarding and human resources systems strongly preferred Experience with device management desired Physical and Work Environment Requirements Office-based position with work hours determined by the manager and company workload; additional hours may be required to meet business needs Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to perform general office functions and move throughout the office environment Reasonable Accommodation Statement The Company will provide reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
