School District is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and organized professional to serve as Polytech High School's Workforce Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and managing a variety of work-based learning (WBL) opportunities â€" including WBL/cooperative work experiences, internships, job shadowing, and youth apprenticeships that connect students with real-world career pathways. The coordinator provides career counseling, builds strong partnerships with industry and community partners, and collaborates closely with school staff to support student placement and success. Additional responsibilities include tracking student progress, supporting CTE program development and industry advisory partnerships, coordinating key events, facilitating industry-recognized credential attainment, and actively contributing to POLYTECH's commitment to excellence in CTE programming and career readiness for its exceptional student body. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success, skilled in relationship-building, and dedicated to aligning education with evolving workforce needs. The Workforce Development Coordinator is an 11-month position.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively promote, support, initiate and assistPOLYTECH
High School students with all Work-Based Learning (WBL) services and other School to Work initiatives, including but not limited to job shadowing, internships, apprenticeships, and other cooperative work experiences Energetically interacts with students to promote WBL opportunities, communicate WBL processes and expectations, connect students with business and industry partners, and provide career counseling services Actively engages withPOLYTECH
High School CTE teachers and school counselors and Kent County business and industry partners to support student work-based learning experiences as well as to increase and enhance CTE program advisory involvement Routinely visit business and industry workplace sites to strengthen relationships with business and industry partners, expand student and CTE programs of study opportunities, and monitor student work-based learning progress and performance Develop and maintain work-based learning documents for students, school staff, employers, and families Track student work-based learning progress and performance, and intervene to assist students, teachers, and business and industry partners as necessary; collect, organize, and maintain WBL student, program, and school data as well as communicate the data to school-community stakeholders Respectfully and regularly communicate with families to clearly promote WBL opportunities and processes as well as to provide updates on WBL student progress and performance In addition to business and industry representatives, develop and maintain close working relationships withPOLYTECH
Adult Education staff, the Delaware Department of Education and other state agencies, local community agencies, the Department of Labor and other labor organizations, and postsecondary education institutions to ensure students are provided with the essential training and preparation for successful high school, postsecondary, and career experiences Support the development of CTE programs of study and the review process of CTE programs of study Ensure all students have opportunities to obtain industry-recognized credentials, and maintain and communicate industry-recognized credential student data to school-community stakeholders Coordinate Annual CTE Events, including but not limited to: Craft Advisory Dinner/Meeting CTE Month Celebrations and Career Fair CTE and WBL Promotions for thePOLYTECH
Open House Employer Participation for Student Signing Day Guest Speakers and Industry Field Trips Other Special Activities and Events as Assigned Make regular presentations on work-based learning, CTE programs of study, and post-secondary opportunities and careers at school and community events Participate in the Home Visitation Program for incoming 9th grade students Assist with support for CTE teachers with alignment to current business and industry skills, knowledge, trends and workforce needs in the areas of curriculum and instruction, industry recognized credentials, modern equipment and technology, arrangement of shop area learning environment, and student expectations Engage in the master scheduling process Serve and attend as a member of various local and state CTE, business and industry, workforce development, and WBL-related committees Assist with the Perkins portion of the school's consolidated grant application process and utilize Perkins data to drive continuous program and school progress Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records in compliance with program, school, and state requirements Other duties as assignedEssential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited 4-year college or university. (A current Skilled and Technical Sciences teacher may have a bachelor's degree OR two (2) years of college or technical training, plus six (6) years of work experience.)Licensure and Certification:
Must meet Delaware requirements for teaching or school counseling licensure and certification(s) in accordance with Delaware Professional Standards Board regulations (14 DE Admin. Code 1500).Preferred Experience:
Three years' experience in a professional or educational setting.Essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors:
Plan and implement program requirements based on federal and state laws and regulations and district objectives. Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, business and industry partners and colleagues. Write, speak, and interact clearly and professionally. Analyze data to inform programmatic adjustments and identify needs. Read, analyze and interpret professional literature and federal and state guidance documents. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, parents, administrators, business and industry partners, and staff members. Perform effectively in environments with competing demands. Use eSchoolPLUS (pupil accounting software) for student attendance and grades. Proficient use of technology including Microsoft Office applications and educational software.Physical Demands:

This is a full-time, eleven-month position. Successful completion of Criminal Background Check, Tuberculosis Test (PPD), and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to start of employment. Salary is calculated in accordance with the verified educational level and work experience of the selected candidate and in accordance with the district's Teacher Salary Scale. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
