Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking to hire a temporary Leave Administrator to join the Human Resources team of an education management company based in Miami, FL. This is a 10 week temporary position that has the opportunity to be extended or converted to a fulltime employment role based off performance. The Leave Administrator, or Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist, will focus on backlog reduction, case/file compliance, and timely reconciliation of leave-related payroll/benefits discrepancies, while partnering cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and business leaders. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where follow-through, documentation quality, and clear communication are critical. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Review, organize, and reconcile pending, inactive, and aged leave of absence cases.
  • Assist with administration and tracking of employee leaves, including FMLA, ADA, state leave programs, personal leaves, and workers' compensation coordination, as applicable.
  • Audit leave documentation to ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Follow up on outstanding certifications, approvals, payroll adjustments, benefit deductions, return-to-work documentation, and employee communications related to leave activity.
  • Reconcile leave-related payroll and benefit payment discrepancies, including missed deductions and premium reconciliations.
  • Provide regular updates regarding project progress, outstanding cases, operational risks, and recommended next steps.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and operational leadership teams as needed to support leave-related matters.
  • Assist with development of Leave of Absence SOPs, workflows, templates, and tracking tools.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Reduce and resolve the current backlog of pending and aged leave cases during the engagement period.
  • Ensure leave files are compliant, complete, and appropriately documented.
  • Reconcile outstanding leave-related payroll and benefit payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Improve responsiveness and follow-up timelines related to leave administration and employee communications.
  • Develop standardized Leave of Absence SOPs, workflows, and tracking tools for ongoing operational use.
  • Provide regular status updates to HR leadership regarding project progress, risks, and outstanding items.

  • 3+ years of experience in leave administration, benefits/leave operations, HR operations or a similar leave oriented environment
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA and applicable federal/ state leave regulations
  • Experience working in a multi-state / multi location environment
  • Experience in an education setting is a plus
