Pierce Powerline Co. is seeking a professional, organized, and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support daily HR operations across multiple locations. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, payroll support, compliance, employee relations, and administrative HR functions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to handle confidential information, and a passion for supporting employees and company operations in a fast-paced utility and construction environment. Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding:
Assist with posting job openings and coordinating interviews Screen resumes and communicate with applicants regarding hiring status Coordinate onboarding activities, orientations, and new hire paperwork Prepare employee files, badges, and onboarding materials Assist with background checks, drug testing, and MVR processing Employee Relations & HR Support:
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and HR support Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events Support disciplinary documentation, employee notices, and follow-up tracking Maintain confidentiality of employee records and HR matters Payroll & Benefits Administration:
Assist with payroll processing and employee status updates Maintain employee information in HRIS systems such as Paychex Assist employees with benefit enrollment and benefit-related questions Support employment verification requests and unemployment claims Compliance & Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR documentation Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and internal procedures Track certifications, licenses, training records, and expiration dates Assist with policy distribution and acknowledgment tracking Administrative Support:
Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and internal communications Support SOP documentation, data entry, and HR projects Order office and onboarding supplies as needed Assist with scheduling meetings, training sessions, and employee communications Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 1-3 years of HR, administrative, or office support experience preferred Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe) Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paychex preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Compensation & Benefits:
