We are looking for a part time Human Resources Assistant . The hours for this position are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am-4:30pm. The HR Assistant handles the daily administrative and HR duties of an organization. They assist the VP of Human Resources with overall HR functions including, recruitment, record maintenance, timekeeping accuracy, payroll processing, and provide clerical support to all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports human resources processes by scheduling and conducting interviews, conducting orientation, maintaining records and information
- Welcomes new employees to the organization by conducting/ assisting with orientation
- Initial employee point of contact for employee issues and questions
- Ensures time and attendance records are accurate and ready for scheduled payroll running times
- Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data in the HRIS
- Assists in the recruiting process; arranging and conducting interviews, transmitting hours information to staffing agencies
- Assists with the planning and preparation of employee events
- Provides administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information
- Reviews and edits HR work SOPs, keeping them current
- Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping employee and human resource information confidential
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Required Skills, Education and Knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED required with some college coursework in Human Resources, Business or other related field
- Exposure and understanding of Labor laws and compliance standards within a business
- Previous Human Resources experience would be required, with a basic understanding of FMLA and other Leave of Absence knowledge
- Some timekeeping and payroll process experience/knowledge helpful
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills, working with entry level employees to high level company leadership
- Promote a positive work environment to encourage positive morale
- Good computer skills, Microsoft Office and Google Docs Fulfillment.
