This position Partners with the plant and support the implementation of company-wide Human Resource and Safety projects while ensuring compliance.
Job Duties:
Ensure a smooth integration process for new employees by providing comprehensive orientation and onboarding support such as recruitment. Understands and interprets HR policies and procedures and interprets the intent, spirit, and terms of each associate and managers. Explains to associates all company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and the need for compliance. Maintain the confidentiality of personal employee information, company information, records, and related issues in accordance with all applicable laws Communicates with employees about any issues, questions, and concerns. As well, as posting notice of all communication throughout the plant Assist in recruiting and hiring all levels of personnel for company needs and establishes company recruitment and hiring procedures. Monitors staffing requirements for all departments Manages all HR and Safety trainings records and files Assisting in the administration of all employee benefits, including: Health Insurance, 401K, Company Life Insurance, Vacation Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation Develop and implement complex safety programs by inspecting or reviewing areas, equipment, processes, and work activities for hazardous conditions in electrical utility areas. Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations Additional Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years' experience in Human Resources/Safety is required Four-year College Degree preferred, but not necessary, new graduates are encouraged to apply Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy environment, with employees approaching you in the office with questions and needs Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with attention to detail Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and associates Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize tasks Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and associates Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
Work Environment:
The work environment reflects conditions typical for a manufacturing facility. Guardian West is not a climate-controlled facility; adherence to all safety protocols is required to minimize exposure to workplace hazards The HR & Safety coordinator role will spend approximately 80% of their time in an office setting at 20% on the plant floor on a daily basis Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels Occasional exposure to vibration and hazardous materials, including toxic and caustic chemicals Why Join Us?
