Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the full spectrum of HR functions, ensuring smooth operations across talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and HRIS management. Your proactive approach will help us maintain a positive work environment and uphold compliance with employment laws. Duties Coordinate talent acquisition efforts by assisting with recruiting strategies, screening candidates, and managing applicant tracking systems (ATS) such as Workday, Taleo, or iCIMS Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure new hires integrate seamlessly into the organization Support employee evaluation processes through performance management initiatives and documentation in HRIS platforms like SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle HCM Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, workers' compensation, and retirement plans using systems like Paychex or ADP Maintain accurate HR data entry and records management, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and confidentiality protocols Assist with employee relations by addressing inquiries, managing conflict resolution, and supporting change management initiatives Contribute to strategic planning activities such as succession planning, affirmative action planning, and organization design Skills Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 1-3 years of HR or administrative experience. Strong knowledge of human capital management practices and employment & labor law compliance Familiarity with Indiana labor laws (or willingness to learn quickly). Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Workday, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft; experience with payroll systems like Kronos or Paychex is a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently Demonstrated experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee evaluation, and training & development processes Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism Skilled in project management, data collection, and report generation for workforce analytics Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workers' compensation procedures, and conflict management techniques Join us at Gary Public Transportation to be part of a dedicated team that values innovation, collaboration, and community impact.
