  • Contract Overview We are seeking a dedicated Rural Health Behavioral Health Workforce Coordinator to join our organization's efforts in strengthening behavioral health services within rural communities.
This paid position plays a vital role in developing, managing, and expanding the behavioral health workforce to meet the unique needs of rural populations. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong management skills, and a passion for improving access to mental health and behavioral health services. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering sustainable programs and building collaborative relationships across healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of programs aimed at recruiting, training, and retaining behavioral health professionals in rural areas. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution of workforce initiatives. Collaborate with local healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations to identify workforce gaps and develop targeted solutions. Supervise staff involved in program activities, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations. Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to promote program sustainability and community engagement. Oversee administrative functions related to program management, including documentation, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements. Monitor program outcomes through data collection and analysis; adjust strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness. Support individuals with developmental disabilities by integrating specialized behavioral health services into workforce initiatives. Advocate for policies that enhance behavioral health workforce development within rural settings. Manage budgets effectively to ensure resources are allocated efficiently toward program goals. Skills Proven experience in management and program development within healthcare or social services settings. Strong background in behavioral health practices and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent relationship management skills to foster partnerships across diverse organizations. Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead teams effectively. Solid administrative experience including budgeting, reporting, and documentation. Knowledge of program management principles applied within community health contexts. Effective communication skills tailored for diverse audiences including healthcare professionals, community members, and policymakers. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with social work principles and practices relevant to rural health initiatives.
