IMPORTANT

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the section's Lead Security Assistant, processing requests for access and entry in support of the installation's security and pass and ID programs Processes various security-related documentation, including vehicle registrations, identification cards, restricted area badges, and controlled forms maintenance. Responsibilities 1. Leads three or more security clerks in the performance of pass, registration and other section-related duties. 2. Processes applications and issues identification cards, controlled and restricted area badges, vehicle registration, and temporary passes to eligible personnel. 3. Maintains automated Entry Authorization Listing ( EAL ) of controlled and restricted area badges issued to eligible personnel. 4. Performs clerical support to ensure efficient office operations. Receives and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to appropriate staff. Receives and refers visitors. Answers recurring questions and resolves recurring clerical and administrative problems. 5. Maintains controlled forms Maintains control logs for identification cards, and controlled and restricted area badges for maintenance and destruction of accountable forms in accordance with applicable AF instructions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management ( OPM ) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Standards for General Schedule Positions Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the GS-0086, Security Clerical and Assistance Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes security principles, regulatory provisions, rules, regulations, directives, DoD suitability criteria, procedures and operations to perform such duties as managing the base Visitor Control Center to support controlling, issuing and accounting for restricted area badges and process a wide variety of standard ID cards, contractor access badges or other forms of base access authorization; general clerical office procedures.
