DCFS:
Human Resources Analyst A/B/C This position performs professional level Human Resources functions within the agency. This is a very complex position requiring considerable knowledge of Civil Service rules and regulations, DCFS Policy Manual, DCFS Human Resources Policies and Procedures, job qualifications, testing requirements, pay plans, program policies and administrative procedures. This position provides assistance to employees on Civil Services rules, Federal and State laws, and department policies and procedures.

Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties:
Consults with Division/Bureau Directors, Regional Administrators, Area Directors and Program Operations Managers regarding the best way to fill vacancies. These duties are not limited to the functions listed above. Audits exam plans for statewide postings. Ensures applicants are screened correctly for positions and that candidates are notified of eligibility/ineligibility and qualified applicants are placed on eligible lists and certified to Hiring Manager. Initiates and/or prepares Position Action Request forms and posts job announcements on the Civil Service posting system website as needed or as assigned. Provides lists of eligible applicants to supervisors. Provides instructions to supervisors on procedures for working these lists. Verifies eligibility of candidate selected. Provides assistance and technical guidance to Regional HR Analyst and managers regarding the Civil Service posting system function and reporting. Ensures that candidates selected for appointment meet all Civil Service rules, test requirements or exemptions, state and federal employment laws, and agency policies. Prepares or assists in the preparation of statistical reports, personnel correspondence, policy distribution, and other human resources related functions as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Career Progression:
This position may be filled as a Human Resources Analyst A, B, or C.
Works Schedule:
Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Compensation:
This position has a minimum hire rate of $18.04 per hour for Human Resources Analyst A, $19.30 per hour for Human Resources Analyst B, $22.10 per hour for Human Resources Analyst C. This position is eligible for premium pay up to $2.00 per hour.
