Job Description

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a Human Resources Leave Coordinator, the Leave Coordinator administers the employee leave programs including FMLA, personal medical leave, and leave of absence, as well as workers' compensation claims. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and third-party administrators regarding all leave-related matters. The Leave Coordinator ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting a compassionate and consistent employee experience.
WORK HOURS
28 hours/week; or as required to provide departmental services as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Manage FMLA, medical, personal, and other leave requests from intake through return-to-work. Maintain accurate leave records and communicate with employees regarding leave status, deadlines, and documentation requirements. Administer workers' compensation claims, coordinate with insurance carriers and medical providers, and facilitate return-to-work and modified duty programs. Maintain
OSHA 300/300A
logs and ensure timely reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses. Coordinate ADA accommodations and facilitate the interactive process with employees and managers. Partner with payroll, leadership, and external vendors to ensure accurate leave and claim administration. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and applicable employment laws. Support HR initiatives and process improvement efforts as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required. Associate's or Bachelors in Human resources, Business administration, or related field preferred. Minimum one (1) year of experience in Human Resources, leave administration, workers' compensation, or a related field. Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, and applicable state leave laws. Familiarity with workers' compensation processes, OSHA recordkeeping, and modified duty programs strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS or leave management software a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
