Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of an HR team for a school district with 1000+ employees working with employees and job applicants electronically and in person
Assists with general administrative operations, manages schedules of multiple team members and gathers data or information as requested
Assumes scheduling, coordinating and clerical functions, including but not limited to word processing, making copies, filing, data entry, answering the telephone, receiving visitors, and maintaining records and files for all office correspondence.
Works collaboratively and provides support to all staff on personnel related matters, answering questions and communicating effectively with employees
Process new hire paperwork and conduct new hire onboarding sessions, which includes but is not limited to benefit enrollment information and employment information
Enter information and changes in HRIS data base (Aspen and MUNIS) and run reports as necessary to maintain job postings, including posting jobs in the electronic hiring and onboarding platform
Track certification for licensed educators and maintain electronic personnel files
Support with coordinating and administering Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and the fingerprinting process
Maintain records of transcripts and verify completion of graduate coursework for granting of lane changes
Assist with substitute applications and tracking and communicating approved substitutes Answers general HR questions
Performs other duties as may be assigned
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Understanding of operating practices of general office setting
Ability to maintain employee confidentiality and exercises high levels of discretion
Excellent customer service skills in dealing with the public and employees effectively
Must be able perform work quickly, effciently and accurately
Excellent communication skills
Good knowledge of office practices, procedures and office equipment
Strong skills in oral and written communication
Must be a strong team player and able to collaborate well with others
Seeks to continuously learn and grow
Strong computer competence including but not limited to, abilities with standard office software (ex. Word and Excel) and HRIS data entry
Required Qualifications:
Driven and energized by the knowledge that he/she is contributing to a strong workforce to best serve our students and families
Previous experience working in Human Resources of similar office setting
Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through; high sense of urgency
Demonstrated ability to successfully balance multiple projects concurrently and work independently
Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills and desire to use data to drive decision-making
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and to be effective and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic, ambitious environment
Demonstrated experience utilizing applicant tracking platforms
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
This position is a full time position (40 hours/week) for set hours between 8:00 - 4:30. This position requires working on-site. This is a non-bargaining position and is eligible for benefits. Salary will be determined by work experience and education level.
