Job Description

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) has an exciting part-time opportunity available for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily Human Resources (HR) administrative functions. As part of a collaborative HR team this position provides essential support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, HR data management, and general day-to-day HR operations.
Schedule and Location:
Part-time, 3o hours per week; Benefit-eligible Work is performed during normal business hours (8:30 am
  • 5 pm
  • weekly schedule to be mutually agreed upon between the candidate and hiring manager The hourly pay range is $26.00
  • 30.00. Actual starting pay is determined by the candidates years of relevant experience, skill set and qualifications. Monday
  • Friday schedule is preferred, but some flexibility in scheduling may be accommodated Hybrid position, based in GSEMA's Middleboro office, with in-office 2 days per week Will require occasional travel to other GSEMA offices (Andover and Waltham) as well as other GSEMA properties Opportunity to work additional hours during busy seasons may be available and anticipated Some Essential Functions of the
Role:
Serve as a key support resource for the HR team, responding to employee inquiries and assisting with day-to-day HR operations Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including job postings, new hire coordination ad termination procedures Assist with benefits administration, including employee changes, communications with vendors and employees, and reconciliations Maintain accurate HR records, HRIS data, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements Provide assistance with payroll, reporting, audits and compliance initiatives Contribute to special projects and employee engagement programs Coordinate HR activities such as meetings, trainings, events and communications Provide support to digital streamlining efforts Skills and qualifications needed for this role:
Required Education:
Associate's or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in a Human Resources role Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Teams and Microsoft Office suite Ability and willingness to learn and navigate multiple platforms, including SharePoint, Microsoft 365 Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational, planning and time management skills; ability to prioritize, anticipate and meet deadlines Highly responsive and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and urgency Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain adherence to all confidentiality guidelines Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to assess challenges, manage competing priorities, diverse variables and personalities, with the ability to quickly and effectively adapt as needed Comfortable escalating questions or issues appropriately as needed Access to a motor vehicle and valid driver's license Preferred Experience working in a non-profit or mission driven organization Experience working in ADP preferred
