Job Description

Hascall Steel Company is a leading Midwest Steel Service Center, committed to delivering high-quality products and cost-effective steel solutions to our customers nationwide. Our Human Resources department is growing and looking to add a driven and people focused team member. This role will provide clerical support to the Human Resources Manager by maintaining personnel and training files, helping with recruitment, payroll and benefits assistance, and customer service to employees.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with recruiting efforts. Maintaining job descriptions, job postings, and scheduling of interviews. Manages prehire screenings, reviews new hire paperwork, and works with new hires to prep for first day arrival. Thorough understanding of all Company handbooks with the ability to review them with new hires at Orientation and enforce policies. Plan and execute various company events, including but not limited to employee appreciation events, golf outings, First Friday Birthday Treats, and lunch and learns. Familiarity with Paycor. Become Subject Matter Expert within Recruiting and HR Modules; act as backup on Payroll. Familiar with health benefits and 401k plan to act as backup and assist employees with basic questions. Create/maintain employee photo walls. Maintain creative and engaging Slideshow regularly featuring Hascall Core Values, safety content, and helpful FAQ's. Perform weekly check-ins with remote employees. Participate in companywide safety initiatives including Safety Committee, Safety Mannequin, and the creation and broadcasting applicable Safety Alerts. Assist or lead various special projects as assigned. Maintains compliance within state and federal levels. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred
Bilingual:
English and Spanish (preferred not required) Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite Strong verbal and written communication Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic and attention to detail Exceptional Customer Service and ability to develop interpersonal relationships
