The Malco Group is seeking a People Operations Generalist (HR Generalist) to join our People Operations Team. The People Ops Generalist plays a critical, hands-on role in delivering an exceptional employee experience across The Malco Group. This position supports core people operations functions including end-to-end onboarding, employee engagement, payroll administration, recruiting coordination, and HRIS system management. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in both process execution and employee interaction, and who can confidently serve as a subject matter expert for compliance, and people-focused programs. Key Responsibilities Onboarding & Employee Experience Own the full onboarding lifecycle for new hires, from pre-hire setup through 90-day integration - supporting people leaders throughout Coordinate new hire communications, orientation sessions, onboarding checklists, and training schedules Partner with hiring managers to ensure clear role expectations and smooth onboarding transitions Continuously improve onboarding processes to drive engagement, clarity, and retention Employee Engagement & Culture Support and execute employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events, including being a leader of the engagement committee Partner with People Operations leadership to administer engagement surveys and action planning Serve as a day-to-day resource for employees, reinforcing Malco Group's values and culture Assist with internal communications related to people programs and initiatives Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration Assist as the payroll and benefits administrator backup, resolving payroll questions and discrepancies, escalating complex issues as needed Help ensure payroll processes align with applicable federal, state, and local requirements Assist with the annual open enrollment process , including employee communications, system updates, and enrollment troubleshooting Support leave administration (e.g., FMLA, state leaves, company leave programs) by tracking leave requests, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with payroll and benefits providers Coordinate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, job changes, PTO, and deductions Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and respond to employee questions with professionalism and discretion Recruiting Support Support recruiting activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, prescreening and offer preparation Partner with hiring managers and People Ops leadership to ensure a consistent and professional candidate experience Maintain accurate recruiting documentation and hiring records HRIS & Systems (UKG Ready) Serve as a primary administrator for HRIS systems and Recognition Platform Maintain accurate employee data, job changes, reporting, and system workflows Support managers and employees with system navigation, self-service tools, and reporting Compliance & HR Operations Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policy and legal requirements Assist with policy administration and employee documentation Contribute to continuous improvement of People Ops processes and systems Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience or Talent Acquisition Experience Demonstrated experience managing onboarding, payroll, recruiting support, and HRIS system Strong understanding of HR compliance and leadership support and partnerships Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site organizations Familiarity supporting multi-site employment laws and multi-state payroll Experience supporting employee engagement or recognition programs HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) What Success Looks Like New hires feel prepared, welcomed, and productive quickly Payroll is accurate, timely, and trusted by employees Managers and employees feel supported by People Ops systems and processes creating a destination workplace HRIS data is clean, reliable, and used effectively Engagement initiatives are well-executed and well-received to enhance engagement and overall employee experienceBenefits and Perks:
