Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Coordination Lead a multi‑board regional team and ensure aligned, high‑quality service delivery across partners. Serve as the central coordinator among all three workforce development boards, Butner Federal facilities, and NC DWS for grant oversight and reporting. Reentry & Community Partnership Development Strengthen collaboration with correctional facilities, reentry councils, community organizations, and employers to support returning citizens. Guide staff as they build relationships that expand employment and support opportunities for justice‑involved individuals. Program Administration & Compliance Oversee program data, records, and documentation to meet compliance standards. Manage grant budgets, expenditures, and reporting requirements with support from internal management and accounting teams. Prepare regular reports and respond to monitoring requests from workforce boards, NC DWS, and federal funders. About Our Team Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) is a public-private partnership that focuses on economic development by ensuring the local workforce has the skills, training, and education to meet the needs of local employers. The board oversees workforce solutions in Wake Johnston, Lee, Chatham, and Orange counties designed to serve businesses and individuals of all ages. We believe in economic development through workforce excellence. The award winning CAWD Reentry Team provides support services and employment assistance to help prepare men and women returning from incarceration for successful employment and self-sufficiency. CAWD is the local provider for the federal Partnerships for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) grant initiative. Through this initiative, CAWD will provide case management, job training, employment assistance, and supportive services for individuals being released from the Butner Federal Prison. This is a time-limited position through March 2029 with the possibility of extension. To learn more about Capital Area and the work we do, visit: https://capitalareancworks.com/ The Basics (Required Education and Experience) Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources Administration or related field Four years of experience in public administration or workforce development Equivalent education and experience are accepted Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume. Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) At least 5 years of management experience with reentry and the justice system At least 5 years of grant management experience, especially federal grants How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
