Job Description

The HR Specialist is responsible for day to day administration within the HR department, to include: candidate sourcing and screening, new hire processing/drug screening, facilitation of orientation and guest service training, managing the employee information system to include data entry and reports, upkeep of all employee files/records retention, and employment verification's. Responsible for all aspects of the uniform distribution process, including fittings, alterations, inventory, and ordering of uniforms.
Essential Functions:
Provide exceptional guest service to all employee and customers. Manage uniform distribution process for all newly hired employees, to include fitting, ordering as needed, and distributing the appropriate number of items. Managing the uniform return and exchange process for termed employees, promoted employees, or transferred employees ensuring appropriate tracking of outstanding uniforms Manage uniform costs through accurate tracking of all uniform distribution, repair, and ordering. Ensure appropriate uniform inventory levels, including ordering of special size needs and maintaining inventory of common sizes. Uniform measurements/fittings for all employees requiring uniforms. Receiving uniform items, unpacking and verifying shipments, and storing items appropriately. Work with A/P Accountant to ensure appropriate payment of invoices. Partnering with payroll for appropriate payroll deductions from termed employees with outstanding uniforms. Placing appropriate follow-up messages to termed employees for return of outstanding uniforms. Ensuring appropriate and timely alteration and repair of uniforms to meet employee needs, either through alteration/repair on own or through an external vendor. Maintain good relationships with uniform vendors. Manage employee uniform purchase program, including payments, ordering, and distribution. Manage dry cleaning for used uniform items, as well as employee personal use of services. Review and update SOPs as needed. Maintain an organized uniform room, including uniforms, filing, and supplies. Maintain uniform inventory database. Maintain tracking of uniforms that are to be destroyed or are no longer used. Administer pre-employment and random drug screening. Facilitate new hire orientations and guest service training. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all new hire paperwork, following-up as required with new hires on missing paperwork. Manage the I-9 process to ensure as an organization we are in 100% compliance. Input all appropriate new hire information into our HR system with 100% accuracy (does not include benefits information) and within defined timelines. Create and maintain employee personnel files and incident files, maintaining compliance with all applicable records retention guidelines. Tracking of all required employee training. Send monthly notices to department management on performance reviews due in the upcoming month and track late reviews. Completion of all employment verification. Distribute the monthly birthday cards and anniversary pins. Audit appropriate HR invoices for accuracy. Assist with uniform distribution/return process as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Required:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission License. Must be able to maintain employee privacy and confidentiality.
