Job Overview Our well-established non-profit client is seeking a dynamic and contributing HR support professional for their Buffalo, NY office. This is a 100% on-site position offering a flexible, full-time work schedule of seven (7) hours per day, M-F. Excellent benefits! Salary range is $42-50K, based on skill level and years of relevant experience. JOB DETAILS
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily HR operations. Responsibilities include maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes, managing administrative tasks such as scheduling interviews and preparing documents, and providing support to the HR Manager and employees regarding policies, benefits, and payroll. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills, as well as a high level of confidentiality Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees about standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, and other topics, and directs more complex questions to the HR Manager. May assist with payroll functions, including processing, addressing employee inquiries, resolving processing errors, and distributing checks. Conducts audits of various payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommends any corrective actions. Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and approving invoices for payment. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external insurance carriers, insurance brokers, or vendors, including health, dental, life, disability, and retirement providers. Process and administer all leave of absence requests, including disability paperwork (medical, personal, disability, FMLA, PFL, and workers' compensation). Maintains all staff listings. Maintains Human Resources Information System (HRIS) records and compiling reports from the database as needed. Assist in the administration of the compensation program and help to monitor the performance appraisal process. Assists in organizational training and development efforts. Maintains master copies of the employee handbook and supervisory manual. Responsible for gathering information from our website for our Affirmative Action Plan regarding the applicant flow procedures. Maintains accurate records of active job openings and manages internal and external job postings. Track the status of candidates in HRIS and send follow-up letters at the end of the recruitment process Schedule interviews, conduct reference checks for new employees, and submit online background checks. Prepares new employee files and assists in new employee orientation. Prepare, maintain, and file papers and documents into the appropriate employee files Assists with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, and employee recognition events. Manages office closing information with TV and radio stations for inclement weather. Performs clerical functions such as making photocopies, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents. Collaborate with the Newsletter Committee to produce the employee newsletter. Liaison to the Retention & Recruitment Committee Other related duties may be assigned as needed.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or associate's degree with two years of HR assistant or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience. Must be highly proficient with MS Office and HR related programs. Knowledge of Paychex Flex is a + #IND123Pay:
