Description:
Position Summary:
The Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE) supports the operational and programmatic functions of early childhood education programs for NYC children in elementary schools, Pre-K Centers, and New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) contracted settings included in Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and through Family Child Care (FCC) programs. DECE provides families with access to high-quality early childhood options, for children birth to five, in rich diverse settings, supporting children's growth and development. Working together with families and programs, DECE ensures that children are engaged, nurtured and supported. Under the direction of the Senior Human Resources Liaison and the Director of People and Culture, with considerable latitude for independent action and decision-making, the Human Resources Coordinator will work to provide comprehensive support for the planning and ongoing implementation of strategic functions for DECE program teams, teacher-assigned coaches, Education Administrators, and the Operations Manager(s). Performs related work.

Senior Human Resources Liaison, DECE Senior Leadership, DECE Senior Directors, Early Childhood Operations Managers, DBOR and central staff in the Division of Human Resources to provide comprehensive human resources support. Responsibilities Communications Works to establish congenial, supportive, and collaborative relationships with school leaders, teacher-assigned coaches, social workers, instructional coordinators, inclusion specialists and program teams. Serves as the primary communication liaison between the NYCPS and internal/external stakeholders, including school leaders, program managers, operations, school secretaries, teacher-assigned coaches, social workers, and instructional coordinators: Responds to phone calls and emails. Facilitates the dissemination of information through internal communication channels. Communicates important announcements via email, newsletters, calls, calendars, etc. Operations and Payroll Support Establishes and handles procedures for daily operations to ensure compliance with NYCPS Standard Operating Procedures and utilize NYCPS systems to ensure smooth program and staff operations. Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the NYCPS's payroll systems and trackers to conduct qualitative and quantitative diagnoses. Coordinates and participates in strategic planning processes to support efficient and effective office operations and maximum utilization of services and resources. Data Analysis and Reporting Supports the Senior Human Resources Liaisons in carrying out data analysis tasks and projects, the creation and maintenance of pedagogue payroll status reports, recaps, and data reviews. Leads the development of internal and external timekeeping and absence reports. Coordinates cross-divisional efforts to ensure payroll and operational compliance.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in "1" above. Plus Demonstrated data management skills. Excellent spoken and written communication skills, and the ability to organize facts and present information and figures in a clear, concise and logical manner. Strong attention to detail and aptitude for working with technology, databases and Internet applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of the experience described in "1" above Preferred Analytical thinker with experience in situational problem solving; ability to prioritize and follow-up. Experience performing complex, administrative duties while maintaining an efficient work environment. Excellent interpersonal skills in working with education and non-education personnel, internal and external to the NYCPS. Attentive to detail and extremely well organized. Ability to work under pressure and navigate an environment that is extremely high paced with projects under tight and changing deadlines. Ability to learn quickly and continuously and be responsive to constructive feedback. Knowledge of NYCPS policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply policies effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexible, optimistic approach committed to overcoming obstacles.
Salary :
$72,114•$80,000 (Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.) Please include a resume and cover letter with your application.
