Partnering with school districts, employers, and community organizations across Greater Cincinnati, LEAD delivers individualized coaching, pre-apprenticeship pathways, and work-based learning opportunities that connect education to employment. Position Overview The Career Coach & Workforce Coordinator will serve as a frontline connector between students, schools, and employers. This full-time role provides one-on-one and small-group coaching to high school students, develops and manages career-readiness programs, and coordinates workforce partnerships that lead to meaningful opportunities such as internships, pre-apprenticeships, and job placements. The position requires strong organizational skills, passion for student success, and the ability to build trusted relationships with both educators and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities Student Career Coaching:
Deliver individualized and small-group coaching sessions focused on career exploration, goal-setting, employability skills, and postsecondary planning. Support students in identifying career pathways, completing Individual Work Readiness Portfolios (IWRPs), and earning industry-recognized credentials. Program Implementation:
Coordinate LEAD Training's Career Quest, pre-apprenticeship tracks, and employability workshops within assigned schools. Track and report progress toward school/district goals for career and college readiness indicators. Employer & Workforce Coordination:
Build and maintain relationships with local employers to expand experiential learning opportunities (tours, shadowing, internships, pre-apprenticeships). Match students with placements aligned to their career interests, ensuring strong communication and follow-up with employer partners. School & Community Collaboration:
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned schools, aligning LEAD services with district priorities and staff needs. Support schools in improving their report card metrics related to career readiness and workforce outcomes. Data & Evaluation:
Document coaching sessions, student outcomes, and employer engagements in LEAD's tracking systems. Contribute to program evaluations, grant reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications Strong preference to hire someone who is bilingual Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, or related field (Master's preferred). Experience in career coaching, workforce development, or youth development. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage high school students and build partnerships with employers and educators. Knowledge of career readiness frameworks, employability skills training, and Ohio graduation/workforce requirements preferred. Organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities across schools and partners.
