Job Description

Job Description The HR Clerk will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources department, handling record-keeping (employee files, databases), assisting with recruitment (scheduling, paperwork), and serving as primary contact for employee inquiries about policies and compliance in a timely manner. This role ensures that all personnel records comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while supporting recruitment and onboarding for drivers. The HR Clerk will manage all driver bonus plans, years of service, wellness plans, and will be tasked with social media platforms regarding any HR related items. Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Communication:
    Acting as a liaison between drivers, management, and safety teams when it comes to any Human Resource activities/issues.
  • Record Management:
    Maintain confidential personnel files, update HR databases such as Bernie Portal, Strategy and Ten Street, and process employee data.
  • Recruitment Support:
    Post job ads, schedule interviews, vet candidates, and prepare new hire documents, including applicant files, offer letters, payroll records for completeness and accuracy. Support the recruitment process by building DQ folders and personnel files and assisting with hiring and on boarding activities whether digitally or physically.
  • Payroll :
    Assist with payroll information, and answer employee questions about benefits. You will be responsible for termination notices and completion of termination procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    Handle general office duties such as data entry, scanning and filing employee records, adding names to and removing them from Google and Excel sheets, assist with updating employee handbook, and managing HR correspondence.
  • Employee Support:
    Act as a first point of contact, providing information on HR policies and procedures. Assists in the execution, planning and administration of HR events and initiatives (during work hours only)
  • Reporting:
    Prepare various reports for employment records and other HR functions. Daily Social Platform Maintenance and perform any other task or function as assigned by employer.
  • Training :
    Responsible for Quarterly Training of office personnel, using the Zywave systems/BFS. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience:
    Previous experience in HR, payroll, or clerical roles, with a preference for logistics or transportation experience.
  • Knowledge:
    Familiarity with DOT regulations and driver licensing or the willingness to learn.
  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or transportation management software (TMS).
  • Attributes:
    Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Education:
    High School diploma or GED equivalent. Work Environment
  • On-site:
    This role is 100% on-site, requiring a physical presence in an office setting.
