About the Job The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is seeking an Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Human Resources (CEA A). This position is located in Sacramento. Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Administration, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Human Resources (CEA A), is a senior executive leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and guide DFPI's human resources strategy during a period of continued growth, change, and innovation. Serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, this position provides strategic oversight of human resources policy, compliance, and risk management while leading organizational change initiatives that support DFPI's mission, values, and long-term goals. This role is ideal for an executive HR leader who thrives in a complex, highly regulated public-sector environment and is motivated by meaningful work with statewide impact. Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).

directs that each full-time employee shall receive a reduction in pay in exchange for

per month. The incumbent must be willing to exercise flexibility and agility as well as be willing to telework (remote work) from home as needed. Telework is subject to DFPI's Telework Program Policy.
