Are you an energetic and driven individual looking for a rewarding career in Human Resources? We are seeking a talented Human Resources Assistant to join our team who will play an integral role in supporting the HR team, and provide exceptional service to our employees, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in all HR processes. In this role, you'll help maintain employee records, support onboarding and offboarding activities, assist with compliance related to labor laws, healthcare regulations, processing background checks, and internal/external reporting. You can look forward to a wide range of activities including general administrative functions, employee development, employee database & file management, benefits, employee liaison, and supporting the creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures. You'll also collaborate with payroll and finance teams to help ensure staff receive timely and accurate compensation. QUALIFICATIONS
1- or 2-year college in HR or business administration preferred. Basic understanding of general accounting principles, labor laws, employment regulations, HR policies & procedures preferred. Ability to learn accounting and HR software. Cyber Recruiter Applicant Tracking system, Relias Learning Management System, and/or Abila
MIP HRMS
systems a plus. Strong ability to be flexible, work independently, work collaboratively with team members, have willingness to take initiative, be organized and multitask. Good communication skills. The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities. Driving or travel is not an essential function of this position. This position is not remote.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 21 years of age High-school diploma or GED Must be able to successfully pass required background checks. Handle high levels of confidentiality with discretion and sensitivity. Proficient keyboarding/data entry and ten-key, computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, higher level understanding of IT. Be thorough and pay attention to detail 1-2 years experience working in office environment with emphasis on Human Resources, experience with various office equipment (phone system, copier, fax, computer), general filing ability.
Compensation:
$24.00 per hour. Non-exempt, Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO) after eligibility period and 13 Paid Holidays. All pay is based on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus, the starting pay for this position is $24.00 per hour. Position closes on Wednesday June 10, 2026 by 5pm.
