About Us New Avenue Inc. is a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to creating safe, supportive, and empowering spaces for youth and families. Our programs focus on youth development, workforce readiness, mental wellness, and creative expression. As we prepare to launch our Community Center and youth programs this summer, we are seeking a dedicated individual to help expand our outreach, partnerships, and visibility across the St. Louis community. About the Role New Avenue is building something real — a community center focused on creating opportunities for young people. We're looking for someone who can help youth (ages 14+) get job-ready, build confidence, and connect to real opportunities — from GED programs to trade careers and first jobs. This role is remote while we build and will help shape the program from the ground up. What You'll Do Help young people get ready for the workforce (resumes, interviews, life skills) Connect youth to GED programs, trade schools, and job opportunities Build relationships with local employers and training programs Create simple, engaging workshops and resources Mentor and guide youth Help design the workforce program before launch Who This Is Perfect For Someone who cares about helping youth succeed A mentor, coach, educator, or community leader Self-starter who can work independently Someone connected (or willing to connect) to trades, schools, or employers What You Get $12,000 annual stipend (part-time, flexible schedule) Real influence — build the program from day one Opportunity to grow into a larger, higher-paid role as funding increases Why It Matters You're helping create real pathways for young people to gain skills, confidence, and opportunities.
